My brain is still waking up from the weekend. I did hear that the ballroom was vey efficiently run, which I will take as a personal complement, seeing as I ran the ballroom.

"This Was Extreme" © 2001 Harry Slash

We came together from across the land,
Our paths were changed by fate's own hand.
We were more than fans of the grappling game.
We became a family and shall always remain.

We watched a vision, flourish and grow.
Through one man's eyes we saw it all.
We saw the face forever change,
Because of pride, fought in it's name.

Our lives were changed as the fires grew,
To bring forth life to what was new.
We saw great heights, and the mighty fall,
And we grew close, enduring all.

We mourn the loss and praise the soul.
And now tell tales and stories old.
We felt the pain, and lived the dream,
In the Bingo halls, we called Extreme.

Minako, You must be one of the busiest staff members every year.  You're certainly the one I know/see the most. XD  You rock.

And, obviously, so does the rest of Metrocon!  Best Metro I've had in a few years, though I was too busy to enjoy as much of it as I'dve liked. XD

Seriously.  I was amazed when everything started almost right on time.  And for the most part, the sound and stuff was better this year, too!  You guys did great.

Well, we are putting on stage style shows in what is ultimately a 75,000 sq. ft. acoustics nightmare. The sound will never be perfect, but it did to pretty well this year. Everyone utililized the hand held mice more for chess, which is new. They always relied on mics that usually fail on us, haha.

Yeah, and talking in the middle of a battle with music going and people cheering doesn't help either.  But like I said, they did a lot better this year.  I sat close so I could hear everything anyway, but I don't think I heard anyone in the audience yelling "WHAT?" or "SPEAK UP" like some years. XD
But yes, the hand-held mics is a very good idea.  And they were pretty subtle at handing them off, too.

The handheld mics were a stroke of genius.  They didn't interrupt scenes, it didn't seem awkward, and we got to actually, y'know, hear stuff.
